DISCLAIMER: This advice may include, but is not limited to, changes to the Windows Registry, Windows permissions, network settings, and antivirus/firewall settings. These actions should only be performed by an experienced IT support professional.

Purpose: To resolve connection issues between Microsoft Excel and LEAP.

When to use: If there are problems with the LEAP add-in for Microsoft Excel.

Configure Excel Add-ins and Trust Center Settings

Please configure your Excel Add-ins and Trust Center settings as detailed below to resolve any connection issues between Microsoft Excel and LEAP:

In Microsoft Excel, go to File > Options > Add-ins.
Click Go next to Manage COM Add-ins.
Deselect any third-party add-ins such as Adobe PDF and Adobe Document Cloud as they can conflict with the LEAP add-in (Microsoft add-ins are acceptable).
Ensure LEAP Office for Excel is enabled.
Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings.
Click Active X Settings and tick Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting.
Deselect "Safe mode" and click OK.

LEAP has experienced a communication problem. Please restart Microsoft Excel and if the problem persists, please log a call with the National Help Desk and quote error code: 3;-7.
Unable to get the Open property of the Workbooks class
If you encounter an error "Unable to close workbook until the current LEAP process has completed", please wait until the program displays "Ready" in the bottom left corner before updating the document.
