At LEAP, our commitment to safeguarding your firm’s data is at the heart of everything we do. Following extensive client feedback and in response to the evolving global cybersecurity landscape, we are pleased to announce a significant update to our access protocols.
Starting from 15th March, LEAP will officially support integration with industry-leading third-party authenticator apps for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), including Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator.
Why we are making this change
This transition is driven by two core objectives:
- Responding to your feedback: We understand that many firms already utilise Microsoft or Google ecosystems. By allowing you to use these familiar tools, we are streamlining your login experience and reducing "app fatigue" across your practice.
- Elevating cybersecurity standards: In an era of sophisticated digital threats, MFA is a critical line of defence. Leveraging enterprise-grade authentication from global security leaders provides a more robust layer of protection for your sensitive matter information.
What this means for your firm
From 22nd March, you will have the flexibility to choose the MFA method that best fits your workflow.
As we transition to this improved system, the only minor adjustment you will encounter is that you will need to re-authenticate any previously trusted devices. Once you have signed in and verified your identity using your chosen authenticator app, you can simply select 'Trust this device' again to resume a seamless login experience.
Looking Ahead: Mandatory MFA
To ensure all firms meet the highest security standards and remain compliant with upcoming industry regulations, we will be mandating MFA for all users later this year. We encourage you to transition to your preferred authenticator app now to ensure your firm is prepared for this upcoming requirement.
Next steps
We recommend that all firms review their current security settings to take advantage of these new options. You can find a full step-by-step guide on how to link your preferred authenticator app in our updated support documentation:

Thank you for your continued trust as we work to keep your practice - and your clients- secure.
