We’ve updated the way apportionment is calculated to better reflect how charges are actually billed. Previously, all apportionment calculations were based on an annual approach, regardless of whether a charge was paid monthly, quarterly, or annually.
What’s Changed?
Previously, apportionment calculations were always performed using an annual approach. This meant that even if a charge was paid monthly or quarterly, the system would calculate a daily rate based on a single continuous period and apply it across the full date range.
Apportionment is now calculated based on the selected payment frequency:
- Monthly charges are calculated within each calendar month
- Quarterly charges are calculated within each quarter
- Annual charges continue to use a full-year calculation
Each period is treated independently, which means:
- A charge is capped at its full amount once the period has elapsed
- The calculation resets at the start of each new period
- Only the current (active) period is prorate
All charges previously emptied remain calculated as annual charges until the Payment Frequency dropdown is changed.
