Purpose: The report provides a month-by-month analysis of Time and Fees recorded by staff, comparing monthly data from the selected year with the corresponding months in the previous year. It specifically focuses on three key metrics: Time Entered Hours, Time & Fees Invoiced, and Time & Fees Received.

By utilising bar charts and tables for visual clarity, the report highlights the variations and trends across these metrics over the two periods. This comparative analysis serves as a tool for decision-making related to staff productivity and overall fiscal performance.

To track specific Time and Fee entries recorded by staff members during a selected period, please refer to the Time and Fees List Report.

Report Filters:

At Date	Serves as the basis for presenting data for the year of the selected 'At Date' and the preceding year. Calculates figures up to and including the selected date.
Staff	Provides a drop-down list to select staff members to report on, with the default setting being all Staff (excluding any non-current Staff Member). NOTE: 'Staff' is based on the staff member who 'worked on' the time entry. A Time/Fee entry is attributed to the staff member whose name is selected within the Time/Fee window. The list does not include any non-Current Staff Member. To include such a member for reporting purposes, temporarily enable the staff member's 'Current Staff Member' status by navigating to LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Firm > Staff Members > Access & Permissions.
Invoice Status	Includes invoices with the selected invoice status(es): All Items Selected (default): Includes invoices of any status. Draft Unapproved Draft Approved Printed Sent (Final) NOTE: This filter is only available when the 'Display' option is set to 'Time and Fees Invoiced'.
Display	Includes two display options: 1. Time Frame: Provides the basis for the report to present monthly data based on one of the following: Calendar Year, or Financial Year, specified under the LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Accounting > General Ledger > Financial Year Start Date. 2. Transaction: Displays charts and tables for analysing one of the following: Time Entered Hours: Total hours recorded within a month of the year, calculated based on Time dated within that month. Time and Fees Invoiced: Total Time and Fees billed within a month of the year, calculated based on invoices billed within that month. Time and Fees Received: Total Time and Fees receipted within a month of the year, calculated based on receipted applied to invoices within that month.

Report Fields:

The report displays data based on users' 'Display' options: Time Entered Hours, Time & Fees Invoiced, or Time & Fees Received for the relevant Calendar Year or Financial Year.

Time Entered Hours

When the 'Display' option is set to 'Time Entered Hours', the report:

Provides total hours recorded within each month of the year, based on Time entries dated within the month.
Categorises the data into two below sections, with each employing a bar chart and a table to enhance the visual comparison. The table displaying the variance between the same month of two different years.

1. Billable Time Entered (Hrs): This includes hours associated with Time entries that have a current status of ‘Billable’ or ‘Billed'. These are the hours that can be or have been billed to clients.

2. Not Billable Time Entered (Hrs): This includes hours associated with Time entries with a current status of Not Billable. These are hours not to be billed to clients.

Time and Fees Invoiced

When the 'Display' option is set to 'Time and Fees Invoiced', the report:

Provides total amount of Time and Fees invoiced within each month of the year, based on the invoices dated within the month.
Employs a bar chart and a table to enhance the visual comparison, with the table also displaying the variance between the same month of two different years.

NOTE:

The amounts are exclusive of tax.
Whether draft invoices are considered depends on the setting of the 'Invoices' filter.

Time and Fees Received

When the 'Display' option is set to 'Time and Fees Received', the report:

Provides total amount of Time and Fees which were paid by clients within each month of the year, based on receipts applied to invoices within the month.
Employs a bar chart and a table to enhance the visual comparison, with the table also displaying the variance between the same month of the two different years.

NOTE: The amounts are exclusive of tax.

Please be aware that the amount of Time and Fees Invoiced or Time and Fees Received does not include invoice/receipt reversals done after the 'As At Date'. This is particularly relevant when the 'As At Date' is not the current date.

Example:

Assume you invoiced £1,000 in professional fees (exclusive of tax) in March 2024 and reversed the invoice on 15 April 2024 (i.e., the reversal is dated in 15 April 2024). You generated the report on 31 April 2024. When the 'As At Date' is set to a date prior to 15 April 2024 (not current), the report calculates the March 2024 figure without considering the reversal. When the 'As At Date' is set to a date from 15 April 2024 onwards, the report calculates the March 2024 figure taking into account the reversal.
