Printing and Setting a Format for Your Cheques

Learn how to manage and print all your cheques from one convenient location and customise formats for each bank account on LEAP Desktop.

Print Cheques

 

  1. Click the LEAP Menu > Accounting > under General > Print Cheques.

  2. Choose the appropriate bank account from the list and click Select.

    The list of cheques for the selected bank account will appear in the Print Cheques window.

  3. Tick the checkboxes next to the cheques you wish to print.

    Tick the arrow next to the checkbox at the top of the first column and choose Select All to include all the listed cheques you wish to print.

  4. Click Print.

  5. Select your printer and click Print.

If the cheque is saved as a transaction in the Office Accounting tab on a matter, it is possible to print the cheque by opening the transaction and clicking the Print button.

Set a Format for Your Cheques

 

  1. Click the LEAP Menu > Accounting > under General > Print Cheques.

  2. Choose the appropriate bank account from the list and click Select.

    The list of cheques for the selected bank account will appear in the Print Cheques window.

  3. Click the Ellipsis button User-added image and select Cheque Printing Settings to open the Cheque Printing Settings window.

  4. Select the appropriate check Layout from the drop-down list.

  5. Change the default Horizontal and Vertical Print Margins. Enter zero (0) for the default printer margins.

  6. Click Print Sample to see what your cheque layout will look like, select your printer and click Print.

  7. Once you're satisfied with the layout, click OK on the Check Printing Settings window.

 
 

The format of the printed cheques is unique to each bank account. If you have other bank accounts, you can set a different cheque layout for each of them.

Some cheque formats may not include an address field, causing the address to be omitted when printing cheques . If the address is missing, the cheque could be printed in an incorrect format.
To resolve this, ensure the correct address is added to the card,as the cheque pulls the address from this information.Then, follow the necessary steps to adjust the cheque printing settings and select the correct layout.
