How To

Enhanced Calendar upgrades the way LEAP works with your firm's Microsoft 365 calendar and tasks. Once your firm has upgraded, you have access to:

Creating appointments from critical dates.
Assigning or forwarding tasks to colleagues.
Editing appointments and tasks created by others.
AI-powered time recording (via Outlook).
Online invoicing and integrated task management.

The upgrade is run once for the whole firm from the LEAP Application Settings. Before you begin, your firm's Microsoft 365 tenancy must be linked with LEAP and each staff member's LEAP account should be linked to their Microsoft 365 account.

The upgrade converts existing calendar and task data for every user in the firm. All users must be logged out of LEAP while it runs, to ensure all data can convert correctly. We recommend running the upgrade outside office hours.

Before You Start

You will need:

The Microsoft 365 Administrator credentials for your firm. If this is not you, contact your IT professional or office administrator.
Access to LEAP Application Settings.
A time when all staff can log out of LEAP for the duration of the upgrade.

Upgrading to Enhanced Calendar

Opening the Microsoft 365 Integration Screen

Desktop: Click the LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings.

The LEAP Application Settings will open in a new window.

Web: Click > Settings > Application Settings.

The LEAP Application Settings will open in a new window.

Click Integrations > Microsoft 365.

Step 1: Link Your Firm's Microsoft 365 Tenancy

If your firm has not yet linked Microsoft 365 with LEAP, the Microsoft 365 screen will show a single Link button.

Click to edit heading

If your firm is already linked, you will land on the accounts list straight away and can skip to Step 2 below.

For more detail on tenancy linking and the permissions LEAP requests, see Application Settings - Integrations.

Click Link.

You will be redirected to Microsoft to sign in.
Sign in using your Microsoft 365 Administrator credentials.
On the Permissions requested screen, review the permissions and click Accept.

You will be returned to LEAP.

The Microsoft 365 screen will refresh to show a list of your firm's LEAP Accounts, their Microsoft Accounts and their Linked Status.

Step 2: Link Each Staff Member's Account

Each LEAP user needs to be matched to their Microsoft 365 account so their calendar and tasks are included in the upgrade.

Find the staff member in the LEAP Accounts column.
In the Microsoft Accounts column, select their Microsoft 365 account from the drop-down list, or type in the correct email address.
Switch the toggle on next to the account.
Repeat for each staff member.
Click Save.

A green tick will appear in the Linked Status column for each linked user.

Click to edit heading

Any user you leave unlinked will be flagged when you start the upgrade. You can link them at that point or skip and continue.

Step 3: Upgrade to Enhanced Calendar

Click Upgrade to Enhanced Calendar at the top of the Microsoft 365 screen.
If any LEAP accounts are not linked to Microsoft 365, a prompt will list them.

Choose one of the following:
- Link Accounts to return to the accounts list and link them first.
- Skip and Continue to proceed with the upgrade for the linked users only.
Read the warning on the Upgrade to Enhanced Calendar window.

Confirm that all users have logged out of LEAP.
(Optional) Enter additional email addresses in Notify additional people as a comma-separated list. These people will receive the completion email along with you.
Click Upgrade to Enhanced Calendar.

A confirmation will appear advising the upgrade has started.
Click OK, then log out of LEAP and close the application.

The Upgrade to Enhanced Calendar button will be greyed out while the upgrade is in progress.

Step 4: Confirmation

When the upgrade finishes, you and anyone you added under Notify additional people will receive an email from LEAP confirming the conversion has completed. The email lists what was converted, how many items were processed across how many users, and how long the conversion took.

Once you have received this email, staff can log back in to LEAP and start using the Enhanced Calendar features.
