All matter types in LEAP are pre-configured based on the area of law that you select.

When you create a new matter, and select your matter type, it populates a set of Card Tables and Standard tables that capture the information that is required for that particular matter.

All of the LEAP Forms are designed around this information being filled out in full in your matters.

The forms are automated with either simple fields which are just bringing in a name or address, or it could be that the form is designed to show a whole paragraph of information based on one field in a layout being filled out in your LEAP matter.

For example, if you would like to fill out the for a financial remedy (Form E1) in a Divorce matter in LEAP, it is important to fill out all the necessary Tables first, as nearly all the details and values are calculated in LEAP and populated onto the form.

Open the Tables and add the necessary information, moving from one field to another using the Tab key and save it on the matter.

Once the fields are filled out, you can now open the Financial Statement for a financial remedy (Form E1) and the information added to LEAP will be populated onto the form.

This is why it is so important that you fill out as much information as possible on all of your matters in LEAP. Whether this is when you first create the matter, or as you gain the information throughout the duration of the matter.

If you create a form and find that there is some information is not completed on the form, the first thing you should do is check that you have completed all information within the cards and layouts on your matter in LEAP.
