The Purpose of By Lawyers Matter Plans

The matter plan strengthens the two essential elements of a successful practice:

Risk management – by taking a matter from start to finish, detailing every step and consideration in sequential order, ensuring nothing is missed.
Ease of use – by organising the commentary, precedents, and forms into a clear and logical folder structure that is easy and quick to use.

The matter plan system is designed to increase the productivity of a team by providing as much or little guidance as needed within each matter, saving time with instant links, references, and additional resources.

How It Works

Open the matter in LEAP Desktop or LEAP 365.
Locate the Details & Correspondence tab.
Click Forms & Precedents which will open in a new window – this is in the Actions bar in LEAP 365.
The Legal Guides tab displays the matter plan which proceeds through the logical sequence of the matter.
The commentary is identified by the icon. Clicking the title will open the commentary in the user’s default browser.
Precedents are identified by the icon. Click the precedent to open it. The precedent will automatically populate client and matter details from the matter.

Using the matter plan ensures all members of the firm are using their time in the most efficient way possible and have all the resources they need to excel and grow the business – it is the secret ingredient to a productive and error-free team.
